In fact, it will color almost anything synthetic, including plastics and nylons, buttons, frisbee discs, Worbla & Thibra, 3D printed objects, toys, dolls, wigs, cleats, urethane coatings and more. The dye comes in a dissolvable packet, so there are never any messy powders to handle: simply drop the packet in a pot of water, add the fabric or objects and bring to a simmer. Maintain temperature & stir frequently for ½ to 1 hour. For uniform color, use constant agitation. 4. Turn off the heat and remove the fabric from the dye bath. Use caution, as the fabric and dye bath will be hot. Dye bath is septic and sewer safe and may be poured down the drain. 5. Rinse and then wash the fabric in cool water with a mild detergent. *Poly/cotton blends and other blended fabrics: iDye Poly will only color the synthetic portion of a blended fabric. That means if you dye a 50/50 blend, for example, only half the threads will actually take the color. This allows dyers to achieve some very interesting effects: Fabric that is 65% synthetic or higher can usually be dyed very effectively using just iDye Poly. For total coverage, combine iDye Poly with iDye for Natural Fabrics in the same dye bath. iDye Poly will color the synthetic fibers while iDye for Natural Fabrics simultaneously colors the natural fibers.
